The winter court pep assembly was held on Feb. 25 in the Tiger Field House.

The show choir opened the assembly with a performance and solo by junior Chyna Mayer. The group was accompanied by a live band.

“It was so fun,” Mayer said. “I was pretty nervous, but then everyone cheered and was so supportive.”

After the show choir performance, junior Caleb Ricketts wowed the crowd with his rendition of the national anthem.

“His voice gave me goosebumps,” senior Lizzy Burke said.

The band then played the usual Tiger Pep and an introduction of each winter sport was given by senior Cameron Barton. Just before the introduction of the winter court nominees, the Tigettes performed a number that made the crowd go wild.

“The Tigettes gave an outstanding performance,” junior Anna Stoner said. “They were empowering.”

Junior Tigette Sabrina Domrique enjoyed performing this particular number because the Tigettes themselves choreographed it.

“We choreographed the dance together as a team, and going out on the floor with our original work made it so much more fun,” Domrique said. “The energy from the students made us excited and happy to dance for everybody.”

The winter court nominees were then announced by Mr. Spencer VanDolah as they made their way to the snowflake arch to get their picture taken and be presented to the student body. The girls were dressed in glamorous dresses and were escorted by the boys dressed up in their suits.

“The girls dresses were so beautiful,” junior Cloey Patton said. “It really made them shine.”

After each pair was introduced, Skylar Johnson and Luciano Razzuoli were then crowned as queen and king of the winter court. Luciano was seen throughout the school day and even at lunch sporting his crown.
