The Talent Show was on Friday, Sept. 15 at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center. The performances included slam poetry and a lightsaber routine. There was also a lot of variety in the show from yo-yo’s to singing and dancing.

Senior Emily Tucker performed a dramatic reading on one of her slam poems on Friday night.

“My reading described the horrific displays of bigotry in Charlottesville that highlights the still prevalent issue of racial injustice in our country today, an issue that must be addressed and cannot be brushed aside or ignored,” Tucker said.

Senior Macy Lapham won fan favorite after  she sang and played the piano to Carole King’s “Natural Woman.”

“It was completely unexpected, but so exciting. I was so happy to have raised money for the drama department, while doing what I love,” Lapham said. “My favorite part of the talent show was watching all of the other acts. They were all so talented in so many different ways.”
