Have you ever wanted to perform on a stage surrounded by other artists? Spring Fest auditions are coming up, and this is your chance to show your talent.

“Spring Fest has a very comfortable, chill vibe that could be treated as an actual music festival,” senior and Spring Fest committee student Natalie Dankert said. “This is an event for the artists and we want to appreciate the talent at the school and honor it. We put your names on the shirts, we give you time to have a set if you want, and, overall, you have the opportunity to be a part of something really special.”

The goal of Spring Fest is the show the potential students have when it comes to art and music. The event was created as a way for creative students to show their work and talent off to their peers.

“I have been looking forward to Spring Fest since the minute last year’s ended, so obviously I’m auditioning for this year’s,” junior Daniel Stout said. “My favorite thing about last year’s Spring Fest is the atmosphere it created. It was just so peaceful and relaxed, it brought together people to just do something they love doing, and at the same time, share it with everyone else.”

This is the second year that Spring Fest will be organized and the committee hopes for even more students to audition and or sell their art.

“I plan to sell my art at this year’s Spring Fest,” senior Noah Anthony said. “I sold it last year, and I enjoyed it so much that I thought I’d sell again. Spring Fest is probably one of my favorite memories from high school, and that was partly because for the first time I got to sell my art and really get my artistic abilities out there. It is such a great opportunity for artists and you get to make some extra money while meeting some cool people.”

Audition sign-ups are in Student Union through March 30, when auditions will be held at 3:15 in the Black Box.

“If you want to audition, remember that Spring Fest is all about the love people put into music,” Stout said. “Just get up there, and put your heart into it. At last year’s auditions, before it started, we were all jamming out and playing the piano together, and we all were just having fun with it. It really helped killing the nerves that some may have had. No one doesn’t want you to succeed because everyone has something amazing to perform up on that stage.”

A piano will be provided at auditions, but if other equipment is needed then those auditioning will have to bring it. If you would love to audition for Spring Fest, but are unable to attend on March 30, audition submissions can also be sent to bahspringfest@gmail.com.
