David Alexander and his Broken Arrow coaching staff emphasized starting fast during practice for the past week.
It paid off Friday night against Putnam City.
BA, ranked No. 4 in Class 6AI, found the endzone on its first nine opportunities, including a 49-point first half, in a 63-7 thrashing of Putnam City at Memorial Stadium in a District 6AI-1 matchup.
“We started so slow last week (against Yukon),” Alexander said. “We added some intense starts to practice. I think we may continue it.”
