Social Media has effects on students’ everyday lives.

Social media is a place that teenagers often can be themselves or hide themselves. However, being on the phone, laptop, etc. can lead to eyesight issues because of the screen lighting. Being exposed to everyone’s opinion can lead a student to either taking in the information or letting it go in one ear and out the other. Screen time usage can affect the daily lives of teenagers. CyberBullying is one biggest issues with social media. Words and actions can hurt a person whether they are meant to or not.

Here are some effects of excessive social media usage on teenagers:

  • Eyesight issues with the screen lights

Excessive screen time can lead your eyes to dryness, irritation, fatigue, blurry vision, headaches, and eyestrain.



  • You take in the information you hear/see

You get to choose what you hear and or see. You can either choose to take in the information or to have it go in one ear and out the other.



  • Social media affects your daily life (screen time usage)-from people

Social media affect our daily life by entertainment, youth, connection, marketing, stress, emotional connections, and lack of exercise.



  • CyberBullying

Cyberbullying brings people down with hurtful words, threats, and actions.



  • Connectivity

Connectivity is where you can connect with everything that is happening in the world to an artist dropping a new album to what’s happening in the world.

Positive- social media helps us express ourselves, Negative- no real life social interactions.
