The Mr. BA contest is a student lead competition in which different clubs and sports choose candidates as a sponsor to compete. The participants in  Mr. BA range from various sports like Volleyball or Tigettes to academic clubs like National Honor Society and Student Council.

“Student Council needed a representative for Mr. BA, and I’m president, so I asked if I could do it and the rest is history,” senior Noah Osborne said.

The contest is essentially a pageant for guys and can be broken down into three sections. The first part of the competition is the athletic wear portion, in which the contestants will wear swimsuits and other athletic clothing. The second part of the competition is the talent portion, in which multiple talents will be brought to the table whether it be singing, dancing, comedy, or any other odd talents that might win the crowd’s hearts. The third and final part of the competition will be evening wear in which the guys will dress up in evening wear and answer on the spot questions.

“Mr. Jedamski selected me as a representative for Jungle Squad,” junior Zack Rodgers said.

Fans should expect a lot of fun and some very exciting events and interesting answers from the representatives.

“Last year, Aaron Sawyer, representative of The Jungle Squad, won. His talent was a spoken word and left the crowd breathless,” said Mr. Rosser. “His demeanor and stage presence was what really won over the judges and crowd. He really owned the stage that night.”

Mr. BA is sure to excite and be a memorable night for the contestants and all who attend. The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Broken Arrow PAC on Sept. 20, and admission is $10.
