Final Fantasy XV, the latest game in the Final Fantasy series, has arrived for fans to enjoy. Fans of the series have been waiting for this installment for 10 years.
The story of the game puts the player in the shoes of Prince Noctis, the son of King Reggis, who will be getting married to a life long friend Lunafreya. Their marriage is part of a peace treaty to keep their two nations from having another war. Noctis with his three friends Ignis, Gladiolus and Prompto must fulfill the treaty and travel to the place that they are to meet for the wedding. But as the treaty was about to be signed, King Reggis was killed by the Empire’s leader who was supposed to sign the treaty. So it is up to the group to find whoever killed the king and stop them from doing any more harm anywhere else.
As for the gameplay, it mostly consists of open world free roaming, mission based traveling, side quests, survival and combat. The most important element is the combat system that is used. Each of the four characters has four weapons to choose from to fight within each battle. They have a variety of magic, summons and special moves to use like the previous installments. Each character can level up by doing their specific job that they have or through combat.
Two new features in the game are the ability to drive a car and to create a camp for the night. The car is used for travel to far off places that can’t be traveled by foot. Camps are used for rest and for food because each character will start to get tired and wear down.
A couple of the cons of the game are that it has long loading times, not a very engaging story and lack of variety of magic in the gameplay. Final Fantasy XV is a very interesting game overall and it’s gameplay is engaging. Hopefully, this game is worth the wait for gamers who enjoy the series.
