Emily Frank is a senior at the high school who has a passion for art.
She loves to do realistic drawings and is best at realism.
“I love art because it’s a way for me to be creative,” Frank said. “I love experimenting with colors and drawing things which may not naturally occur.”
Seeing amazing art is her inspiration and inspires her to do something creative.
In addition to gaining inspiration, she gives out inspiration.
“I definitely find inspiration in Emily because she finds beauty in everything around her,” senior Lauren Shipman said. “I love Emily’s art because it is a depiction of how she lives: soaking up every detail and appreciating the little things that make life beautiful.”
She sets high standards.
“Emily’s work ethic and determination to create high quality work is a constant example and inspiration for other students,” art teacher Jennifer Deal said. “I have no doubt that her work, with its think-outside-the-box quality will serve to set the bar for BAHS students for years to come.”
Frank embodies the idea that you should make time for your hobbies and for the things you love.
“I’m actually not pursuing art in college,” Frank said. “I want to go into Astrophysics. I don’t think I have the personality required in order to be an artist for a living. You have to be very entrepreneurial, a salesperson. I just like to make art.”
Frank also has a unique perspective on art.
“My favorite thing about art is that it’s different for each person,” Frank said. “You could sit the same picture in front of two artists and end up with two completely different pieces. It’s astounding. And plus, art has no definition, so whatever you draw, as long as it’s genuine, is never wrong.”
Frank’s pieces will be featured throughout the year in the art gallery.
