On Feb. 18 the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance will take place. For those who don’t know, Sadies is where the girls ask the guys, usually through a punny poster or something creative.

The theme of the dance this year is Into the Woods.

The dance will take place from 6-9 P.M. and will be held at the Freshman Academy. Tickets are available for sale all the way up till the dance and are 15 dollars before, and 20 dollars at the door.

There will also be a photo booth that students can take pictures with friends or dates, and can receive photo prints.

“Sadie Hawkins has always been my favorite dance and being committee head of it this year has been so much fun,” senior Gloria Kermanshi said. “I love that the girls ask the guys because it makes things different and fun.”

Some students made memories last year and are excited to make more.

“I went to Sadies last year and had so much fun with all of my best friends it was a blast and the theme was so cool,” senior Lexi Bagrosky said. “I’m excited to go this year and create some fun new memories with friends.”

Senior Student Council president Noah Osborne has five reasons why everyone should attend Sadies.

It is super fun. You can come and just dance the night away with your best friends and have the time of your life.
It will benefit the Student Council. STUCO puts on all the events on campus and if you come then you are helping them make money to put on other awesome events like ColorBash, SpringFest and Aloha Bash.
You don’t necessarily need a date to go. The first year I went to Sadie Hawkins I didn’t have a date and I had just as much fun. Going with your friends is a great idea. Don’t worry about going without a date.
It is something different than any other dance. It’s not like homecoming or prom.
It could be the best choice you have made this year. Don’t regret it. Come to Sadie Hawkins.
